Our Commitment to Healthy Puppies
Our 2-Year Chow Chow Puppy Health Guarantee
At Zinald Chow Home, the health and wellbeing of our Chow Chow puppies are among our highest priorities. We want every family to welcome their puppy home with confidence and a clear understanding of our commitment to responsible puppy care.
Every eligible puppy placed through Zinald Chow Home comes with our 2-Year Health Guarantee against qualifying serious congenital or hereditary health conditions as described below.
Our health guarantee is designed to protect both the puppy and the new family while encouraging responsible veterinary care throughout the puppy's life.
Our Commitment Before Your Puppy Goes Home
Good puppy health begins long before the puppy joins a new family. During the time our puppies are in our care, we focus on proper nutrition, cleanliness, socialization and age-appropriate veterinary care.
Veterinary Care
Our puppies receive appropriate health monitoring and veterinary attention before leaving for their new homes.
Vaccination & Health Records
Puppies leave with the applicable record of age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming and health information available for that puppy.
Healthy Development
We provide our puppies with appropriate nutrition, care, socialization and a clean environment during their important early developmental period.

What Does Our 2-Year Health Guarantee Mean?
Our health guarantee applies for two years from the puppy's date of purchase and is intended to cover qualifying serious congenital or hereditary conditions that significantly affect the puppy's health or normal quality of life.
A qualifying condition must be diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian and supported by appropriate veterinary records and diagnostic information.
Because every medical situation is different, a claim under the health guarantee is reviewed using the veterinarian's diagnosis, the puppy's medical history and the terms of the puppy's written health guarantee or purchase agreement.
What the Health Guarantee Covers
The 2-Year Health Guarantee is primarily intended for serious congenital or hereditary disorders that were inherited or present from birth and materially affect the puppy's health.
Examples of conditions that may qualify, when appropriately diagnosed and documented, can include:
- Serious congenital heart abnormalities
- Serious hereditary disorders affecting major organs
- Qualifying hereditary neurological disorders
- Serious congenital abnormalities that significantly impair normal life
- Other serious hereditary or congenital conditions confirmed by appropriate veterinary diagnosis
What Is Not Covered?
Our health guarantee is not pet insurance and does not cover every illness, injury or veterinary expense that may occur during a dog's life.
Once a puppy leaves our care, its environment, nutrition, exercise, exposure to other animals and ongoing veterinary care can all affect its health.
- Accidents, injuries or trauma occurring after the puppy leaves our care
- Illnesses contracted after leaving our care
- Conditions caused by neglect or improper care
- Conditions resulting from inappropriate diet or nutrition
- Fleas, ticks, worms or other common parasites
- Minor or temporary digestive upset
- Routine veterinary expenses
- Vaccinations, boosters and routine deworming after the puppy goes home
- Spay or neuter expenses
- Grooming-related expenses
- Dental care or routine dental conditions
- Behavioral or training problems
- Conditions resulting from obesity, over-exercising or preventable injury
Your First Veterinary Visit
We strongly recommend arranging an examination with your licensed veterinarian shortly after receiving your puppy.
Bring all health and vaccination records provided with the puppy so your veterinarian can review them and establish an ongoing healthcare schedule.
Continuing Your Puppy's Healthcare
Our responsibility is to give your puppy a healthy beginning. After your Chow Chow joins your family, maintaining that foundation becomes a partnership between you and your veterinarian.
Your veterinarian can establish an appropriate vaccination, parasite prevention, nutrition and wellness schedule based on your puppy's age, lifestyle and location.
Keeping Your Health Guarantee in Good Standing
New owners have an important role in protecting their puppy's health. We expect families to provide reasonable and responsible lifelong care.
Veterinary Care
Establish your puppy with a licensed veterinarian and follow reasonable recommendations for routine preventative healthcare.
Proper Nutrition
Provide a nutritionally appropriate diet and maintain a healthy body condition as your Chow Chow grows.

Provide appropriate shelter, exercise, grooming, training and a safe living environment throughout your dog's life.
- Maintain appropriate routine veterinary care
- Keep vaccinations and preventative care reasonably current according to veterinary guidance
- Provide appropriate food and fresh water
- Maintain a healthy weight
- Avoid excessive exercise while the puppy's bones and joints are still developing
- Provide appropriate grooming for the Chow Chow's double coat

How a Qualifying Health Claim Is Handled
If the required veterinary documentation confirms a serious congenital or hereditary condition covered by the written 2-Year Health Guarantee, we will review the claim and work with the family according to the remedy stated in the applicable puppy agreement.
Depending on the written agreement and circumstances of the qualifying claim, the available resolution may include an appropriate replacement puppy or another remedy specifically provided by the puppy's health guarantee.
We understand that families become emotionally attached to their puppies. A health concern should be handled with communication, appropriate veterinary evidence and the puppy's wellbeing in mind.
Protecting Your Chow Chow's Health for Life
A health guarantee is only one part of responsible puppy ownership. Chow Chows require continued care throughout their lives.
Proper nutrition, routine veterinary visits, dental care, parasite prevention, appropriate exercise and regular grooming all contribute to your Chow Chow's long-term health and comfort.
Because Chow Chows have a dense double coat, owners should also pay particular attention to grooming, skin condition and keeping their dog comfortable during hot weather.
